The Diving

Here's the schedule of diving for the weekend. Divetime moors at The Cove. Here's a map.

Ropes Off
Morning
Afternoon
Saturday 7:30am (confirmed) Iolanthe - 45m Sea Bed Caves 14m
Sunday 8:00am (confirmed) Black Hawk Stern - 36m in 48m James Fennell 15m?
Monday 8:30am (confirmed) Minerva - 44m ? - Hood anyone?

The morning dives are advanced and quite a few people will be on Trimix. I'd like to put a few procedures in place to make things safer.

  1. If you loose deco gas and your buddy, send a yellow bag up the same line as your orange DSMB. We will have surface support who will lower another bottle to you. This will likely be 100% so you'll need to be at 6m or above to use it! If anyone would like to bring additional O2 please do so.
  2. On surfacing, you have the option to stay in the water for a while for additional off-gassing if you want. Just don't signal the skipper until you want to be picked up. Again, surface support will be spotting for the skipper. This is your call but I'd use about 5 or 10 mins.
  3. The skipper will need to know your run times. Remember there are afternoon dives if you want them.

Accommodation

Here are the accommodation arrangements. Bookings are in my name so quote that when you arrive. I've suggested room sharing but you can fight that out between yourselves if you want.

The Hazeldene (01305 782579) - There's one single (me) and a family room with 1 double and 2 single beds - I put Jason and Peter in there! Here's a map.

The Warwick 9, The Esplanade, Weymouth, Dorset DT4 8EB (01305 785960) - There's a twin for Craig and Nick and a triple for Nigel, Gordon (Sat & Sun) and Brod (Sun). Note: this is not the Wawick Court! The Warwick is next to where the Condor catamaran moors which you will have seen if you've ever dived out of Weymouth. Here's a map.

I have paid a deposit for both places and I will settle with the owners so don't part with any money. I will tell them this before you get there but just make sure you don't get fleeced!

I doubt whether breakfast is much of an option but I'll check. We get soup and rolls on the boat but we might be able to blag packed lunches in lieu of breakfast.

Meeting Up On The Friday Night

Let's meet in the Old Rooms (food until about 10pm) as quite a few of you know where it is. It's along the Old Harbour towards Old Harbour Divers, on your right just past the bridge. Drop me a line if you want more specific directions. If/when you need it, my mobile number is 0796 853 9294. The Old Rooms is marked on this map.

Those attending;

Everyone has paid in full now. Many thanks.
